How far is Stonehenge from Southampton Cruise Terminal?
Stonehenge is approximately 34 miles away of about an hour by car. You can book taxi’s to take you from Southampton Cruise Terminal to Stonehenge for approx. £75 by Uber (which is available!). So return journey would be £150 – so probably better value if there are more than 1 of you!
Do I need to pre-book tickets to Stonehenge?
You don’t need to pre-book tickets, as you can purchase them direct at Stonehenge Visitor Centre – however, often if you pre-purchase them online you will get a better rate.
Will I have suitable time to see Stonehenge from a cruise that docks at Southampton?
Absolutely! Its about an hour there and back (2 hours total journey) and to make the most of Stonehenge we would recommend about 2 hours to visit the stones as well as the very informative visitor centre which is rich in details and ancient artefacts. You also have time to pop into Salisbury as you can see, and this is something that shouldn’t be missed with its wonderful Cathedral.
Can I get an organised tour from Southampton to Stonehenge?
Yes, there are organised tour companies that will pick you up from the cruise terminal and take you to Stonehenge and back and includes entrance fees for you. You can book these through your cruise company but also independently.
