It will be of no surprise to you that Stonehenge is one of the most popular attractions in the world, and it has also been given the prestigious award of World Heritage Status and is one of the major wonders of the world. There are conflicting thoughts behind why it was built, first ideas were as a pagan place of worship, this was followed by an astronomical clock and then lead onto a Bronze age burial ground. The history of Stonehenge goes back over 5000 years, and this Stonehenge Express tour gives you the perfect opportunity to make up your own mind on exactly what Stonehenge was used for.
You will take our luxury coach from the meeting point directly to Stonehenge, which is approximately a 90 minute drive from London. When you arrive at the site, your driver for the day will then give you all your information and assist you into Stonehenge. From here, you can then enjoy your afternoon at your own pace with the useful factsheet and audio guide to guide you through the history and mystery of the famous Stonehenge in any of the languages listed below.
The tour will finish back outside of London Victoria Train Station, this gives you easy access to National Rail and Underground trains enabling you to get to where you need to be in the evening. You can expect for the tour to arrive back to the station approximately 3:30pm but this can change depending on weather, traffic and other factors.
An interesting trip, everything ran as expected and was back in time for my dinner reservation.
I choose this trip because I wanted a short tour just to see Stonehenge when I had an afternoon off on my work trip - it worked well.
We went to Stonehenge and although it was a two hour drive, it was well worth the visit. Only thing is the wind was so strong I felt I was in a typhoon when we were visiting those amazing sacred rocks! Wow! An amazing feeling being there. Only wish that there wasn't the road right next to it going by this historical monument. We had an amazing driver and felt very safe and well taken care of. Clean and new bus and all was nice and easy.
Well, this Stonehenge experience was BRILLIANT! I was a bit nervous given the price being so cheap, however, from the moment I arrived at the meeting point I knew it would be great. The driver was super friendly with a great commentary on the journey up and back. We were even able to stop at Woodhenge which was an unexpected suprise! We were also so lucky with the weather and took some amazing photos, just a brilliant day all round!
We took an afternoon trip to Stonehenge which was definitely worth seeing and it was more than enough time there When i rang to confirm my booking i wasn't informed the pick up spot had changed due to a parade. This meant more tube travel and rushing. We then waited another half hr for others who were late- nice for them frustrating for us! I would recommend this trip as value for money.
The Stonehenge Express Tour was simply amazing. I was staying in London for 10 days and dedicating one afternoon to visit Stonehenge was a great idea. The ride to Stonehenge took more than 2 hours but it was quite comfortable. The driver was very nice, giving additional commentary and keeping the passengers hyped about the journey. We had 1 hour and a half available time at Stonehenge which was more than enough to make a relaxing round, carefully listen to the audio guide, grab a quick bite and visit the souvenir shop. Much recommended if somebody (like me) doesn't have enough time to combine the visit to Stonehenge with Oxford (Bath) and Windsor.
